The wife has been reporting my temperature everyday to the health as per their request. My 14 days is finished tomorrow.

Kamnan just finished a speech over the village speaker system saying that people are returning from Bangkok and the need for social distancing etc etc and that people can see the local 'nurse' daily to get their temps taken.

The MIL has just locked herself on her house.

Everyone is in a panic because they equate catching Covid-19 to a death sentence - which it is not.

.... except for the 13,594.... oops, 13,598 that have died.

I find it interesting when TV members condone Thai-on-foreigner racism.

What a laff. I'm not condoning anything. It's not like people in issan are especially educated or worldly. Why wouldn't you expect a bit of bigotry about in times like these?

I think everyone is entitled to their own positions and prejudices. I've never called anyone out for being a racist. People always tend to travel with their own herd. Usually it's not racism anyway. It's prejudice, bigotry, jingoism but the wokester virtue signallers to ignorant of that cry *racism* BOO.

If it really bothers you as it seems to I'd recommend packing it up.

Seems laymen know better than the World Health Organisation.

in many cases yes since the laymen are not politically motivated or under political job or money pressure

The officer told me I have to use a mask

The world is in short supply

Masks should only be worn if you're sick

The police should be more focused on road deaths, lack of wearing helmets

Why are Thais so obsessed with these masks?

It just doesn't make sense.....riding motorbikes without helmets / wearing masks when not sick.

Whats going on?

Psychology 101, in times of crisis people need and expect strong leadership, the Thai "government" is showing its true mettle, which anyone and everyone knew off anyway, though some have forgotten and have actual high expectations of the clowns performing.

Maybe :shock1:

Was at the tax office this morning, all wearing face masks.

Saw one admin staff remove his mask to pick his nose.

Not sure where they’re getting their health advice but it does correlate with a collective culture.

Going to get very weird here in the coming weeks.

Stay at home, stay safe and well.
