Thailand Chooses Cities for Future Casino Complexes
It's heartening to see some pushback Thanakorn Khomkrit no doubt giving voice to a majority (of silent voices) though we all know the b*****ds in charge will do it anyway. There was a recent posting in an FB group of the abandoned casino complex in Pakse, Laos, where the archipelago rapids are a well-known natural beauty spot. It's been removed and there's very little up-to-date info online, after a quick search. The hated project has been left with empty shells of buildings looking a disgrace. The poster reported a trickle of water where the rapids used to flow. In the UK the Hippodrome, privately owned by millionaire Simon Thomas, makes hundreds of thousands in profits per week - AFTER paying half of that into the UK treasury in tax. Thailand will be rubbing its hands together over that prospect. Mr Thomas and his classic car collection will have friends high-up in Westminster of course. -
