The UK Visit Visa is valid for 6 months. Permitted stay is 6 months per entry - no limit on number of entries during the validity of the visa although expect to be questioned by immigration officer on arrival if making multiple extended trips. There are still currently flights from BKK to The UK.

Not quite correct, a UK Visa allows a holder to seek entry for up to six months, but is not permitted to stay longer than the expiry date on the visa, and it would of course depend on the purpose of the visit and length of stay outlined in her application.

The Border Force Officer at the UK Border had the authority to allow a shorter stay than six months.

Whilst there are currently emergency arrangements for people stuck in the UK, this may not apply to the OP’s girlfriend.

The last time my GF got a Visit Visa for UK was May 2018. She came to vist me twice in that period. The visa says permitted stay of 180 days. As far as I remember there was no stamp put in the passsport such as "permission to remain until..." No mention of length of stay on entry. Forgive me if the rules and visa rules have changed since then.

No, the rules haven't changed, unlike Thailand you cannot enter the and guarantee to stay six months, you are only allowed to stay for the duration of the visa. So if you entered on the 1st May and your visa expired on the 2nd, that's when you'd have to leave, and whilst there's a 30 day grace period, that's not designed to extend the validity of a visa, more for unforseen circumastances, and would need to be explained in any future application.
When a visa holder first uses a visa the Border Force Officer just normally stamps the visa with a date stamp, during any future entries the Officer would stamp the passport with an entry stamp.

Ok thanks. That's good to know. We are only need 2 visits during the validity of the visa each for only 2-3 weeks.
