webfact
Another Covid-19 patient dies, 91 new cases By The Nation Thailand’s total number of Covid-19 cases rose to 1,136 with 91 new cases confirmed over a 24-hour period while one person died, Sujariyakul Anupong, senior expert in preventive medicine at the Department of Disease Control, said on Friday (March 27). The cases can be divided into three groups. The first group of 30 are connected to cluster cases -- five people had attended a boxing event in a stadium, seven had worked and been to entertainment venues, and 18 had had close contact with others previously confirmed as infected. The second group comprised 19 people of whom 10 had just returned from overseas ( nine Thais and a foreigner ), five were working in crowded areas or close to foreigners, and four are under investigation. The last group of 42 are being investigated on the source of the infection. Meanwhile, nine people have fully recovered and returned home. As of March 27, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 1,136 -- 1034 are under treatment, 11 in critical condition in hospitals -- 97 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been five deaths. Of the total number of cases, 12 per cent are foreigners and 88 per cent Thai citizens from 52 provinces of Thailand. Globally, there are more than 500,000 confirmed cases in 194 countries and nearly 24,000 deaths. The US is only testing people meeting a very strict criteria. My Niece in New York experiencing, sore throat, fatigued, and a dry cough went to the emergency room, after doing an X ray and determining that her life was not in danger they send her home untested because they said she did not have a fever, and had not traveled to an affected area, or come in contact with another infected person. They told her that if her condition deteriorated to come back. All the statistics are garbage, No one knows how many people had it and recovered, or are having it now. I am sure Thailand is not better. 21
Popular Post RotMahKid
Do they also count in the provinces where all the people from BKK went to? Do they even have test kits there? Popular Post dinsdale
It's all about testing. Thailand ranks pretty low when it comes to this. More tests, more infections detected. This is what's being called don't test, don't tell. Thailand's figures are bogus. 10

Popular Post Stanley78
I wouldn't be surprised if the Thai numbers were ten times higher in reality. But then again I wouldn't be surprised if that was true for the UK etc. as well so it would hardly be a Thai specific issue. That being said I am happy to see so many Thais (and foreigners) wearing masks. I know some say masks don't help and should only be worn by healthcare workers but I, and I'm sure many others agree, feel a lot better being in a country full of mask wearers than the opposite. When I started wearing a mask over a month ago people would point and laugh at me but no one is doing that now. ???? Good luck everyone and let's hope this nightmare ends eventually. 3
