you are missing my point, WHICH is how the heck did I know that one has to wear a mask to get INTO THAT BANK ?????!!!!

If you have lived in Thailand for a long time you will get use to this. It is called Farang logic and is totally opposite to Thai logic.

My suggestion is to learn it quick, as it will save you a lot of frustration.

I could tell you countless stories of Farang and Thai logic that would confirm that like the seminal book Men and from Mars and Women are from Venus that this also equates to Westerners and Thais.

Good luck in your quest for this magical enlightenment as when you achieve it, life will be so much easier.????

Fact

Increasing evidence that loss of sense of smell/taste is an early indicator of COV19 and many more than expected otherwise symptom-free folk who report loss of smell/taste do turn out to be CV19+. Research continues but some jurisdictions are alerting front-line staff to observe and note this effect in clients and themselves

End of factual account

Proposition

Loss of sense of irony/humour may turn out to be another early symptomless indicator

End of proposition

eh huh,, I smell a fear monger ginning up more of it.... Oh wait - maybe I don't - wait, sniff sniff, I don't smell the roses or the neighbor behind me burning pepper in her wok now..... AAHHHH NNNOOOO!!!!! IT's It's... the FLU TERROR

In situations like this, you need to think more like a Thai and say, "How much to buy your mask from you?"   ????

That's normally the best way if you want to make a significant withdrawl. I find a having a gun and a getaway driver helps too.

I don't understand why the OP is in such a tizz about this. Unless he has been living in a cave, everyone knows the accepted culture is to wear a mask where people are, for their protection if you are infectious. Or wear a mask to protect yourself from what is described as air quality here, a classic oxymoron.

Go home, get a mask. Is that so hard?

My mask view has evolved, I have been off and on wearing a full face one as a courtesy to the locals, not so much for the virus, but so they dont think I am a hideous demon.

I'd suggest full body armor to be on the safe side.
