google ads

Featured Replies

Ok I hate ads anyway.

Can someone please give me a step by step way to stop google ads taking up the bottom 20% of my screen.

Type it slowly so I can write down the steps I need to take.

eg on tv I can't get to 'activity' section in notifications as it's usually covered by by ads I am not in the least interested in.

Thanks.

Go into settings, top right hand corner, three dots, click. Go from there, takes a while but you will find the ads thing...

This is the only effective method that I have tried that can block most adds:

Unfortunately you MUST have an Asus router with Merlin firmware. If you do, it's simple to install and set-up and performs magnificently taking ad-blocking to a new level.

Have a look here:

uBlock Origin

Available for Chrome and Firefox (mobile Firefox as well)

install Adblock or Adblock plus, also what browser are you using as some browsers have inbuilt ad blockers.

I installed Adblock but that for some reason messes with my VPN.

hmm ...  strange, what web browser are you using.

you could try another web browser, I use Slimjet, it has a blocker built in. VPN is no problem.
