Suphanburi: Raid on hermitage turns up hundreds of illegal animal parts

A raid by the elite animal rescue task force Phaya Seua uncovered a huge amount of illegal animal parts at a hermitage and house in Muang district of Suphanburi in Thailand's central region.

At the address of a self-styled man known as "Professor Khom" they found the remains of lots of exotic and protected species and some live ones too.

These could end up ground up and sold on Facebook as magic potions and cure-alls.

The items included horns of the serow, wild deer horns, other antlers, pangolin skins, pangolin scales as well as many leopard and bear skins.

The professor said in mitigation that he had had the animal parts for years and they fetched a good price online.

He was arrested and charged under the restricted species legislation.

Any local thai-market in the vicinity of the Myanmar border, has almost any body part of all endangered SE Asian endangered animals.

The Chinese merchants from Bangkok flock to these markets, buy in bulk, and send to their former motherland.

So sad about this, but so many brown envelopes are being given in this dirty business....

Primitive beliefs for primitive uneducated people . Hard to understand that in the 21 century this is still possible .

But some people just do not get it ...

Everything is connected , every action provokes a reaction .

We live on this planet , but many do not respect it's biosphere and ecosystems .

That is why the virus appeared .

Being the dominant species on this planet , mankind inherited the responsability to keep it in good condition with a functioning and balanced ecosystem .

Many species of animals became extinct or are critically endangered by now .

So will our species if we do not immediately stop any destructive action against earth's biosphere .

People still ignoring this are just showing of how self-obsessed and ignorant they are .
