No, he’s just an idiot doing what idiots do best - idiocy.

In this case dangerous idiocy.

Sarcasm my hairy farang ass. Watched the briefing live and he was deadly serious and went as far to ask the female health advisor to look into the 'treatment'. Last night it emerged a right wing church/business had sent Trump details of it's own miracle cure that involved drinking a bleach solution and lo and behold a couple of days later he's repeating the same snake oil claims.

The man is and embarrassment to the whole US nation, dangerous beyond belief in his handling of this crisis and alone in the responsibility for tens of thousands of avoidable deaths from this deadly virus.

In what context is it safe to ingest detergents?

In what context is it acceptable for the President of the United States to recommend ingesting detergents as a cure for a disease that is killing tens of thousands of Americans?

The President’s comments are dangerous, the only open question is are they dangerous idiocy or dangerous lunacy?

Its a thin line between the two.

I did not take him being serious and it was foolhardy. His mouth is his worst enemy but I'd put it down to sarcastic, but foolish, humour that is being exploited by the other side. To be fair though he exploits Biden's gaffs so fair game in today's gutter politics.

You think that was the time and place in front of a national audience of millions and in a monumental crisis to be sarcastic. There are people who worshipped him listening and will take him seriously. You just making excuses for Trump who just don’t have the statecraft to be President.

Trump defenders........time to put on your big boy pants. You do, at times, have to feel for them. What a task defending this moron day after day. They must wake up on a morning thinking OMG what is he going to say, what is he going to do?

If Trump loses the election...it will be because he has no idea when to just let someone else do most of the talking...shutup already!

Looks like nobody has taken the trouble to listen to his comments, just rely on the false news networks to spread their poison. He DID NOT say you should drink disinfectant or bleach. He WAS struggling to express a certain concept which as a non-scientist he couldn't find.

He has a very high IQ, not everyone that disagrees with you is necessarily a moron.

I don't think he will lose the election. It is utterly baffling, but he will win and probably win the popular vote too. The history books will have a field day trying to analyse how, why?

I trust that my fellow Americans will not let this happen.  About the only way Trump will remain President is if he cancels the November elections.  And knowing Trump, he may just try.

Cooked is correct.  All Trump said was that scientists should investigate everything from UV light to disinfectants.  He never claimed that anyone should do anything without a doctor's consent.  If Obama had said the same thing, he would have been nominated for the Nobel Prize.

You're correct about that, he literally said injecting the disinfectant.

Couldn't agree more on the sunlight thing but injecting bleach and sticking a UV lamp down your throat, really?

Lordy.  So why would these companies need to publicly announce that their products are not to be ingested?  Read the OP.

Trump needs a speech coach...one that will suggest strongly that he not speak at all at these virus updates since he publically passed the responsibility to the droid Pense...

It was not sarcasm...

The leader of the most prominent group in the US peddling potentially lethal industrial bleach as a “miracle cure” for coronavirus wrote to Donald Trump at the White House this week.

In his letter, Mark Grenon told Trump that chlorine dioxide – a powerful bleach used in industrial processes such as textile manufacturing that can have fatal side-effects when drunk – is “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body”. He added that it “can rid the body of Covid-19”.

Also rid it of those pesky things, like breathing, heart beating, kidneys working.

He is correct though, once the host is dead the virus fails to replicate.

How ironic this is. One of the main pushers of this nonsense to bash the President must be surprised to learn his own wife used bleach, and recovered.

"He has a very high IQ"......That has to be the joke of the century and nothing he has ever said supports him having a high IQ.

He reads like a 6 yr old child (no big words please) and the fact that he says idiotic things in amongst his many lies is bad enough, but this latest outburst is a doozy and should open folks eyes to the fact that he is mentally deficient and unfit to be president.
