I am over 65 with diebetis and hypertension

I would be a mug not to take it if I ever want any semblance of a normal life back

If it comes in pill form and I can wash it down with Lysol... 

 

If not, I will wait and see how others do... 

 

ps. I have never had a flu shot. 

I will wait a year until all the bug is cleared like a new model car. And I'm not sure whether I would take one made in China.

Yes. Anyone in the highest risk cohort should.

One shot in each arm please. 60, stent, hypertension, borderline pre-diabetic, so I'm in like Flynn !

You may have been lucky, and had a very mild version which was good enough for your immune system to come out with all guns blazing.

I've had flu shots for about 30 years, every winter. Had a severe version once. You don't die, but you come close to wishing you could.

That's not likely to happen. 

For me, the question isn't whether I SHOULD take the vaccine or not... I know I SHOULD....

 

But the bigger question for me is, at the very beginning once whatever first virus is unveiled assuming one actually is, do I believe that the pharma companies and government regulators involved in it will have done sufficient due diligence to offer a safe product, or are just rushing anything onto the market in hopes of making huge profits and perhaps halting the CV despite inflicting various vaccine casualties along the way.

 

Based on the U.S.'s horrible handling thus far of the CV pandemic with now 50,000 plus dead, the erratic, ill-informed Trump Administration and the hapless politics over science regulators at the CDC and FDA under Trump's watch who could have prevented a lot of this but utterly failed in their jobs, I'm just not feeling the trust right now.

I thought there would be a lot more people saying YES........Considering how many people seemed to be gung-ho on wearing these cheap all but ineffective face masks in the face mask poll....... 

I voted "No" as I'm not convinced any vaccine brought to market this soon would have been demonstrated as safe.

 

I would also want an antibody test first, if I've already had it I don't really want to risk a vaccine.

 

Ask me again 6 months after the vaccine was released and the response may well be different.

 

My opinion only of course.

If it was available today then it would not have been through rigorous trials...

There is no way I would be taking anything that hadn't been proven 100% safe over a few years.

I would take it as soon as possible. Not only for my own sake - I never took a flu shot - but as much for the sake of others.

 

Besides, you guys may not get to choose yourself if you want to go to Thailand or travel to any other country.

I would say that most people are only wearing the face masks so that they will not fall prey to some passing cop who needs 20,000 Bht ????

If I can refuse freely , I would not.

 

But I guess it will be a new requirement from Immigration in Thailand.

No. And I doubt there will be a vaccine. The other corona viruses like Sars and Mers have no vaccine.

The worst case scenario for a new vaccine the way they are developing it... would be it did not create the antibodies needed.  I would want to take the vaccine, but I would also like the followup antibody test to make sure (vaccines do not always work the first time). 

 

I would take it earliest I could.

Statistics: I'm overweight and over 65. I'm probably borderline diabetic type 2 and had severe allergies growing up.

The real problem is that I may not have a choice in the matter. If you want to get the vaccine good for you. If I do not want to get the vaccine then the government will force me to get it. There is little doubt that this is how things will work out. I will fight it as long as possible. Then, when I can no longer get food, have a bank account, buy medicine, not see a dentist, travel, not see a doctor without government approval in the form of a document or chip verifying I have been vaccinated, then, at the point of this gun I will have a life and death choice to make. This is the future. We all have to decide how we want to live and die. This is not a drill. This is your life today now. You decide.

Most people should answer "no" to this, which makes the entire situation all the more ridiculous.
