Has anyone actually gone to Immigration for a 90 day  report and been told "Not needed" because of the amnesty  or have they gone to report and their 90 days it was processed as usual ? would be nice to have some feedback from people who have tried to renew their 90 Day'er

Yes, did mine last week of April when I renewed my retirement extension. No pushback at all from the IO. This was at Jomtien.

Did my 90 day report yesterday at Jomtien at 10:30. Nobody outside and inside not crowded. In and out in 5 minutes. The only issue I saw was people sitting in chairs with red "x" on them. I have tried to do mine online but get a message to contact immigration. Maybe because I haven't been out of the country for 5 years and my arrival card is too old or I have a new passport.

You think there is a visa amnesty! You think mmigration will waive your fee! Really!

The visa amnesty is generic and comes from the top but your local immigation has there own interpretation. I know for a fact that it does not apply to student visas. Perhaps immigration have influenced the schools.

Immigation are open as usual and are waiting to take ur money..DONT LET THEM DOWN,

You think that you turn up immigration with ur renewal fee and they will turn you away for health reason...haha  Beware of the elephant trap

Online reporting works fine although the website is slow...maybe do late at night (dont forget to takea screen shot

Play safe ..

Or more likely those doing extensions/reportings are making a bit on the side.

Thanks Johng. What about renewing a retirement visa ?? Can that wait till Aug 1st or do you have to do it when it's due regardless ?? (Asking for a friend, really)

Apply for the 1 year extension as you normally would do. If you read the early announcement about the amnesty, it actually said that it covers every type of visa " if affected by the coronavirus". "Affected by" would mean people that can't extend their stay or leave the country for a visa run (just an example) etc etc at the moment. I normally do my extensions late in May at Jomtien Immigration because it's a perfect time with not many applicants. I will still do my extension in about 3 weeks because imo I'm not "affected by" the coronavirus. When staying 5 min from immigration and with no people at all waiting for desk 8, what would my excuse for not doing the extension be? Saying I'm scared s**tless because of the virus would be a lie.

Mine due on the 12 May,went yesterday to CM immigration. Lots of people there but used the drive thru service,in and out in 5 minutes. This drive thru is definitely a step in the right direction,no getting numbers and having to stand in line. Just sat in the car at the drive thru window while the officer completed the registration. That being said,I decided not to wait and take any chances on what might happen if I didn’t do it. We all know how difficult immigration can be,so decided not to give them any excuses. Anyway all done for another 90 days, plus a nice little outing from the home.

Can someone post a photo of the sign saying no 90 day reporting necessary, as a back up and proof, just in case any questions are raised about why reporting was not done.

Before the virus I inquired in person about online 90 day In Khon Kaen and the lady laughed it off and said mail it in is better. They’re a pretty organised office and she expressed a firm vote of no confidence in that aspect of their system.

I read through the three pages and don't recall anyone directly answering the OP.     He asked if anyone went to their local immigration office and was simply told they did not need to do the 90 day report until end of July.

I see where at least one person said he was told it wasn't necessary but he nevertheless proceeded to complete the process.

I genuinely  have the impression that most members replying on this thread  spoke of doing the 90 day report out of fear and mistrust of the Thai Government.     That's a shame but I understand.

See my post no 17.  I think you have formed the wrong impression, it's such a non event at the best of times even moreso now, that if you were to take the time to visit immigration 5 minutes extra doing the report is neither here nor there Can't really understand why you think such a minor process would induce fear for anyone lol.

For additional information to anyone doing an annual non-o renewal, a couple of people in front of me today at 3 o'clock and I was out in 20 minutes.
