Phetchaburi province will allow the sale of alcoholic beverages from May 7 following the government’s order to ease measures on public gatherings during the Covid-19 situation.

Phetchaburi Governor Korbchai Boon-Orana said on Tuesday (May 5) that the province will continue to enforce wearing of face masks when going outdoors. “Moreover, the province’s Communicable Disease Committee has agreed to keep the local quarantine centre open until June 10, despite the province not having any new cases in the past 30 days.”

Only four provinces -- Pathum Thani, Phitsanulok, Nakhon Phanom and Buri Ram -- have maintained the ban on sale of alcoholic beverages.

Phetchaburi has recorded only two confirmed cases of Covid-19 and both patients have fully recovered.
