How do you treat everyone the same, when the only way to get reasonable health care in America is to either be rich enough to afford it, or work for an employer that will put medical insurance in your salary package?

How do you treat everyone the same, when Mexicans and African-Americans are pilloried by a white President? Who has basically distanced himself from a pandemic that was on his watch, exacerbated by his early inaction, and is now scourging those poorer minorities.

Intellectually lazy? You are making a pretty good fist of that.

I belong to a Facebook political group for Black people. They blame Joe Biden much more for Blacks incarcerated than they do Trump. Trump signed a prison reform Bill they liked, and they're really not too keen on Biden's refusal to make weed legal at the federal level.

Yes, I recall the Patricians of Rome trying to keep power, they would only grant as little power improvements to the Plebians in order to appease for the near term. Especially with the current income/wealth differentiation it is difficult for me to be optimistic. We seem to be moving further away from the ideals and more toward the oligarchy rule. Having read some of your past posts, we may well have different ideas on "social engineering" or a "sense of entitlement".

Daily murders of black males, of mostly younger ages, year in and year out in urban areas of the United States is nearly ignored by the media and entities opposing President Trump.  These same urban areas, also where the current riots are, have continually been controlled and "managed" by Liberal Democrat constitutional officers.  Does anyone have the ability to explain this?

 

Another issue to ponder:  It is these same populations and urban areas where the mayhem and violent destructive rioters are located that also saw the highest levels of Covid 19 Virus mortality.  Could it possibly be that the same people who ignored Federal Government advice and decrees to mitigate virus spread are of the same mindset as those who ignore social order laws and participate in riots and violations of curfews?

Get real, the principal reason for the disparity is the fact a white person is far more likely to be able to afford decent legal representation, and be facing a more sympathetic jury.

I received a video clip today of an incident in a place called North College Hill US where the police have a black guy pinned to the ground and one is systematically punching him in the face.

When a woman verbally remonstrates with them she is thrown to the ground, handcuffed then taken away.

I don’t condone the violence that has been taking place but after viewing the previous clip and the one today it suggests there is something seriously wrong with some of the police.

This is what Americans don't understand. If everyone is armed - good guys and bad guys both, everyone is trigger-happy. Any policeman approaching a vehicle could be shot without warning.

Contrast that to Australia, where mere possession of an unlicensed firearm can get you serious jail time.

I once knew an American who had been a policeman in Los Angeles. Any loud noise freaked him out, and when dining out in a restaurant with us he had to sit with his back to a wall facing the entry door.

I do wonder how many Americans have mental health issues that are directly derived from the Second Amendment.

I have not watched to much news on this.   but big protest in Salt lake city  and blacks are less than 2%. cars burned.  I saw 1 video where white armed men were interviewed and said they came to protect the protesters from the police. I saw video in many cities amd many  protesters  look to be white people.   There has been a systemic cover-up of police brutality and abuse in America,  everyone of intelligence knows this.

Police in our country stopped a Smart car ( = for 2 persons only), because they thought to see a third "head" in that tiny car. So, "with heavy machine guns, mortars&artillery etc" they stopped the car ( switched off the light "stop police", enough here) and looked into it. The third "head" was a plant cut in the form of a "ball on a stick". All laughing, police posted it on their blog... ( also seen "corona" measurements, there must be social distancing, or only persons from one household. Might be the second reason to stop them for a quastion.) 

 

I am happy in NL we do NOT have such an Amendment... Here in NL, when a police officer draws his/her gun,... it comes on TV, in newspapers etc..

 

More like that Sherriff, who joined the crew in the protest march. Or was it for his re-election... ?

Police do not come from the Moon, they come from you and me, and as such they are subjects  the same perceptual constructs that influence reactions.   There is  screening  to adjust for that, but it is inevitable that sooner or later such screening will fail and an unsuitable individual  will become a cop. or that a good cope will make a dad decision,  or crack under the strain.

IMO these riots have not served to change perceptions for the better. Peaceful protest would have brought the required justice and improve relations. 

Politicians and community organizers hold their fair share of blame over this also.
