Bt20 billion is expected to be spent to stimulate tourism as an online poll said most Thais see Chiang Mai as their number one tourist destination.

The stimulus project is going to be proposed to the Cabinet tomorrow (June 16) and will include registration for tourism operators who want to receive the subsidy.

Meanwhile, an online survey by Suan Dusit Poll revealed that 31 per cent of 1,116 Thais questioned ranked Chiang Mai as the number one tourist attraction they would love to visit.

Prachuap Khiri Khan came next, with 28 per cent saying they wish to visit the province more than any other. Bangkok, Chon Buri and Kanchanaburi followed in popularity, respectively.

Most people still believe a limit on tourists could lower Covid-19 transmissions by 83 per cent.

Almost 83 per cent believed strict sanitation would also prove effective, 78.5 per cent felt all tourists must be screened, 74 per cent said wearing face masks is a must and almost 73 per cent felt cleaning one’s hands is necessary.

Some people may not be as bothered by it as others are.

Chiang Mai is a failed state within a barely functioning country.

100% of my CM household said stay away we don't want any of you????

From the picture, I believe this is Mont Cham. Last time I went there, it felt like entering Mars City. So many new constructions. Doesn't feel like nature at all any more. Another example of how these hill tribes commit to their own greed. Once nature is all gone, nobody wanna go there any more...

May.25 was the last day we had a reading of over 100PM2.5,it's been in the 'green' since and will likely continue, hopefully, to the end of Dec. It's actually VERY beautiful here right now.

The first time I've been here during the monsoon, normally I'm back in Canada working for the summer(June-Sept.)....not this year of course.
