Re-connecting Electricity (MEA)

Hi guys! So, electricity was due & just got cut off. How long does it take to reconnect (are there any fees to get them back) and how to get them back on after making payments?

It can be anywhere between 1 and 3 days. The meter is physically removed, so MEA have to send a worker to install a new meter.

 

There is a fee for this.

 

You need to go to the MEA office in person to resolve this (assuming you are the account holder). If your are not the account holder you will need a letter of authority and a signed copy of the account holder's ID.

As far as I know the fee is 100 THB plus VAT.

Aren't there two states of disconnect?  One, less serious, that doesn't involve removal of the meter..

I don't know of a less serious but of a more serious. When the meter isn't reconnected for too long you have to pay the same as if there haven't been a meter.
