Probably not. if you die from the virus without having been checked then you never had the virus

That is it in a nutshell, well said.

Yes, at this stage the Australian state of Victoria is doing a whole lot worse than Thailand ... through government incompetence (both political & bureaucratic).

Thailand is 130th in the world for testing per million. That’s bad.

In context with other low incidence countries:

Australia has done 13 times more tests per capita.  NZ 10 times more. Even Malaysia is 3 times more.

And the UK has lied consistently on testing, got caught doing it over and over again and then stopped releasing test data. They only talk about testing capacity, big deal, they can say have 20 million a day capacity, but if they’re only testing 50k it’s pointless

And only certain categories from those countries are allowed into Thailand with a lot of hasslle paperwork and quarantine,so why should the UK let passengers from Thailand in without quarantine?

Once again, does doing more tests change the number of deaths!

One statistic that is nearer to the "truth" or the state of play is the number of deaths per 1 million of population.  I assume all these numbers come ultimately from the WHO, which, as everyone knows, is not the most reliable source, but is more or less all we have to work with.

The league table for deaths per 1 million of population is:

BELGIUM = 843

UK = 651

SPAIN = 607

ITALY = 576

SWEDEN = 537

FRANCE = 458

USA = 400

CHINA = 3  (!!!!!!)

JAPAN = 8

S. KOREA = 6

TAIWAN = 0.3

VIETNAM = 0

THAILAND = 0.8 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

These figures are taken from:

Could it be due to the continued extension of the State of Emergency that makes the UK wary? I mean, it’s almost like Thailand saying itself that things aren’t right.

More like Thailand still being cautious of inbound travelers adding to new outbreaks, UK only applying a tit for tat response to them being in Thailand’s red light list.

Belgium includes in its counting SUSPECTED deaths for some strange reason which is why it’s #1

When it suits them the Thai Government backs up with 'forefingers don't understand the Thai way.' It never enters their mind that the reverse might be true. For example, the UK is, or will be, separate from the EU and therefore the UK does not have to follow the EU.

Thailand has opened up to some countries who still have Community spread. This is to boost Tourism. Great get the money in. Makes it easier to find to bury Your Own population.

My guess it is a matter of reciprocity: UK citizens cannot enter Thailand without a 14-day quarantine if they can enter at all.

Tit for TAT.
