To use Norway as an example, the UDI website acknowledges that whilst in principle an individual must renounce his/her other nationality in order to become Norwegian, this does not actually prevent him/her from continuing to exercise citizenship of that other country.

Essentially, if the Thai authorities still recognise you as being Thai, there's nothing the Norwegian authorities can do about it. Therefore, it is still possible to hold two passports, although, in this example, whatever Norwegian immigration status was endorsed in the Thai passport would cease to be valid once Norwegian nationality is granted.

Scouse.

Many European Country will now only give citizenship to Thai (and others) if the they renounce their previous citizenship. One of the reason to still be a dual passportholder: if the cost of giving up your natoniality is to "high". Someone who know how much a Thai, have to pay for give up their citizenship.
