July 22, 20205 yr All the Pattaya beach chair vendors located on the beach have disappeared in the last 2 days. No umbrellas, no chairs, all gone. Does anyone know why they were removed?
July 22, 20205 yr Big storm coming, they will be washed away! Looks like they made the right move.????????????????
July 22, 20205 yr Popular Post No, I certainly don't. I live too far from Pattaya. Your other post was reference to having to build the beach again, and now it's the beach chair vendors who are are missing together with the chairs and umbrellas. I should report these matters to the keystone cops.

July 22, 20205 yr Popular Post They have to close for 3 days in the 3rd week of every month as per instructions from City Hall. No logical reason for this. There is a sign on the beach near Soi 1 detailing when all the beaches have to close; Jomtien is a different 3 days, I think. Someone posted a photo of the sign on another thread. It is a marginally better arrangement than having to close every Wednesday which meant 4 or 5 days per month. It seems an odd decision when you are a beach resort desperate to attract tourists to the city but City Hall knows best. Like to see them tell Central to close their malls 3 days a month.

July 23, 20205 yr Maybe they knew the rain was coming and didn't want to get blamed for all the "missing" sand that got washed out to see. You know, the same way that they got blamed for all the trash that washes up on the beaches in Bang Saen almost everyday.
July 25, 20205 yr I saw them busy pruning the trees 2 days ago, probably a good reason for temporary chairs and umbrellas removal.

Also notice how most of the areas with any shady trees left have umbrella merchants camped out in the shade !
July 25, 20205 yr If I remember correctly the mayor said that hordes of tourists will come during the long holiday weekend. Perhaps they are scared.

July 25, 20205 yr A lot of very childish replies here. The question was not a joke, was legitimate question. Grow up guys..perhaps boredom is sinking in..
July 25, 20205 yr More money in growing rice than renting out beach chairs now. Perhaps the vendors have returned to the farm. ????
