Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wutthikun went to the  City Hall command center to check up on new CCTV provision at the resort.

A company called Digital First and Service Network has been employed to install 463 new cameras in 116 locations.

Many are at traffic blackspots and areas where crime has been reported.

'employed to install 463 new cameras'.   Nothing about 'maintain' in the text.

Reminds me of that old Thai saying....."If it's broke, don't fix it, mai phen rai!"

555. And another age old saying, "Install, forget, replace, repeat".

I wondered why I've been sleeping much better each night recently.

Great news. The more cameras in public places, the better. Let's just hope they were acquired honestly and that they'll keep running for years to come.

What a great society that needs to keep people under 100% surveillance 24 hours a day. They snoop on your internet too, especially if is wifi. From when you leave you room until you get back. Probably have cameras in your room too.

They are probably expecting an increase in crime against tourists in Thailand for years to come. As it was years ago.

Incredible, having installed many of these systems around the World, I see obvious deadly hazards with this install.  Not clever at all.

463 CCTV cameras to view empty soi's and no tourists ...... lol

Leaves all the more to be used for spotting the locals.
