The chief of the Prachuap Khiri Khan immigration announced the arrest of four Bangladeshi men and two Thai taxi drivers yesterday.

They were stopped at a checkpoint in the Sam Roi Yot area on Petchkasem Road heading south.

The Bangladeshis were charged with entering Thailand illegally and the Thais with aiding and abetting.

Pol Col Sutthipong Phuttipong said this was all part of immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang's orders to keep Thailand safe and stop illegal immigrants entering especially during the Covid-19 crisis.

He said that the disease can be brought into Thailand from abroad and his men had cooperated with the Sam Roi Yot police in the arrests.

Though it was not specifically mentioned in the Daily News report it appears that the illegal immigrants entered Thailand through a "natural border" bypassing immigration.

Not Mah'med, all the same.
A Muslim would never dare to do that.
As he has papers in hand, he must have been the policeman who arrested the illegals and drivers.

Job well done. Hope an honest Investigation into their destination and intent takes place.

Drug trafficking, human trafficking, piracy and terrorism are quite common in Bangladesh.
