webfact Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Video: Doctor and nurse flee for their lives as shooting starts outside Mukdahan ER Picture: Sanook A video from Don Tan Hospital in Mukdahan in Thailand's north east showed the moment a doctor and a nurse fled for their lives as shooting erupted outside the emergency room. They had been patching up one gang member and believed others were outside coming to cause further harm. A post that was quite light hearted given the circumstances, suggested that the medical personnel had locked the ER door and were running for the safety of a staffroom. They had been alerted to trouble after hearing thirty motorbikes arrive outside and the sound of arguments, so they had bolted the door. The post online from a medic said in addition to all the normal duties of a hospital now the staff were practicing for the 4x100 meter relay. Netizens praised doctors and nurses and condemned the violence that has occurred frequently at Thai hospitals in recent months. Popular Post richard_smith237 Posted September 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2020 Thats two major ‘gun stories’ on the same day. Within the next couple of days we will read of some government tool announcing a ‘crack down on gun crime’ as if his announcement alone is the solution to the problem. 3
Popular Post colinneil Posted September 28, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2020 It is almost unbelievable, staff in ER there doing their best for people, yet thugs think it is ok for them to show up (probably tooled up) wanting to cause aggro. Sad state of affairs when hospital staff cannot go about their work without be terrified. Of course it would help if there was a properly fuctioning police force here, not the police farce there is at present. 11

Of course the police not being able to do something about these idiots is a reason for this mayhem, but the biggest factor is misplaced ego and face in these gang members.

Maybe all hospitals can be retrospectively fitted with panic buttons linked to the nearest police station. 1
