Where I live few cared about mask wearing and everyone mingled closely in the supermarket even during  lockdown. No one where I live caught it.

 

The message- wear masks, social distance to save lives.

The reality- no one bothered much, and no one even got sick with corona ( where I live ).

 

I'd like to know how many died because they couldn't get operations during lockdown, or committed suicide because their jobs vanished due to lockdown.

Complain to the Mall. I went to a BigC and nobody was at the entrance taking temperatures and there were huge queues at the check out counters because only 3 of 20 counters were open. I complained to the manager and he told me it was none of my business. I sent an email to the head office of BigC and told them if I had reported the fact that this Mall was not taking temperatures and making sure everyone was wearing masks they could be forced to shut for 3 days and fined 500,000 baht. A senior person from BigC rang me back very quickly and thanked me for not reporting the store and got the manager of the store to ring me to apologise. In a Mall it is compulsory to wear a mask.

(Especially when it's only waged against how cool or not they may look.) In fact it's f*cking bul<deleted> to think that your decision is what's best for everyone when someone could DIE because you calculated incorrectly.

 

So IMHO if you have the balls, go ahead and say something. Social pressure is what's behind herd immunity.

Quite a strong reaction, considering there are ZERO transmission or cases amongst the general population here. So, just what are you afraid of? Catching a cold? 

 

I understand precautions worldwide. I don't understand it here. I think masks here at this stage are Inane. Plastic fashion welder shields are a hundred times more inane and look beyond ridiculous. 

 

If the Zombie Apocalypse were going to happen here, it would have happened already. The borders are locked down. The airports are locked down. Stop the paranoia, the scare mongering and the fear, please.

Less than two days on the highways here. Do they shut down the highways?

Ha! The comment about being quick enough brought a memory back! My plan was to travel by myself in a VW Camper and drive the Pan-American Highway from the US to Panama. As it played out I never made it out of Mexico. But in preparation for the year of travel, 1979-1980, I took a year of intensive Karate. My thought was to be able to throw a creditable punch and then make a quick getaway!!!
