At the moment, the Purple Line, ARL and BTS are operating as normal. This is due to the planned #ม็อบ17ตุลา protest at train stations at 3pm #Thailand Richard Barrow in Thailand @RichardBarrow · 23m Isn’t it ironic that the preventive measures by the Thai government to stop the #ม็อบ17ตุลา taking place is leading to a #BangkokShutdown? Like yesterday they closed major roads which forced shopping malls to close. Now it looks like the rail system in #Bangkok will shutdown too. I was expecting this today but your confirmation is evidence. good ..... thank you. 1

It’s an absurd overreaction and only makes the Thai authorities look weak and panicky in the face of a movement mostly of teenagers and people in their 20s. Popular Post nausea Posted October 17, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 17, 2020 I'll say this, having lived here for 10 years plus, you never get bored in Thailand, always something going on - coups, floods, tsunamis, Boss, student protests, etc., etc. It's great as an observer, as a participant perhaps not so good. Not my fight, probably should go home and involve myself in something meaningful to me. But I've pretty much given up on that shower of nincompoops. I'll tell you one thing, Thailand, as a microcosm of what's going on back home is rather enlightening. 3

Looks to me like they are settling in. Unless the Military rumbles in, they are going to be in place. The Government official on television right now is telling the public to avoid the 5 major Areas and to use alternate routes to get around Bangkok as the roads will be closed for a long time and they have no intention on moving in. That is the abbreviated version. 2 1
