There are some great deals on rental cars at the moment. Try Maks in Jomtien, or just search around for the best deal to rent a small car for a few days. No more expensive than taking four or five Grab taxis and much more convenient.

It would take more than a few taxis to justify proper insurance, but of course you can always take a chance.

Seem to be a lot of "Bolt" apps...scooters, rideshares, courier...confusing. If Grab is still around I'll just use them...already have an account.

Grab is still around and is the most widely used. BOLT is a lot cheaper though - for example, a trip from the Darkside to Central Pattaya is less than 80 baht

Cars. As far as I know none of the ride hailing apps in Pattaya offer bikes (only in BKK)

Using inDriver as Grab too expensive

InDriver is good and this is what I was using before I discovered BOLT last week. With InDriver you can put forward a price you want to pay and then wait for people to accept (or adjust your bid if no one accepts).

I think this BOLT app is going to always be cheaper than Grab - but at the moment it's extra cheap due to them launching. The driver who picked me up the other day said it was a 6 month promotion (can't verify if that's true though)

Well they are but last time I logged on the fare was 100 baht more than previously.... up 25%. Like Uber in the UK, last time I landed back there Uber would not work as paying cash was no longer an option and another level of commission takers with their hand in your pocket had made them less attractive.

Just an FYI...used Grab from Honda Sukhumvit (near Bangkok Pattaya Hospital) to the Wat Suttawas area (end of soi Nern Plub Wan); fare was B289 and paid B300.
