See many brand new cars with black removed on purpose to avoid cameras.

So why bother.

????????????

Yes.  Seen many with black paint removed. Wonder whether the BiB will fined them ?

The black paint HAS NOT been removed. The black paint is rubbish and fades in sunlight. My Ranger's front number plate faded first as that bit sticks out of our Honda CR-V sized car port. The rear number plate was always in the shade and never faded. Last year I swapped the rear plates with the front plates. Six months later, they had bleached out as well.

Then I got stopped by the BiB... (see post #6 on page 1)

yes but what happens when you are waiting 7 weeks after they take your old plates?

You get a receipt to show police if you are stopped for no plate.

This looks like this is getting really hard for some people to understand.

You drive to the LTO with your faded plates attached.

You either take them off or show a picture of the faded plates to the new/replacement plate desk jockey.

You order and pay for your new plates, get a dated receipt that you can show to any interested cops in the interim.

You drive away on your faded plates, ie. you do NOT have to surrender them if you don't want to. YMMV.

You drive back at the appointed date, surrender your faded plates and get the new ones and sign for them.

Any questions?

Works out cheaper if you travel a lot in a hurry.
