Thailand Road carnage: Merit makers seriously injured, one man dead in horror smash

Featured Replies

Around where I live the worst drivers seem to be the ones with Fortunners, some of these trucks have to much power like the Ford with a 3.2 engine way to much

  • Pick-Ups again. Thais drive them like the car companies advertise them, fast, furious doing the impossible. Car companies should take a lot of responsibility for road deaths in Thailand.

  • There is nothing wrong with the pickups it is who is controlling them that is the problem, one could also say the same about SUV's

  • Might I surmise that speed was involved due to the degree of damage to the trucks?

They were travelling in an Isuzu pick-up and had just made merit in a Thot Kathin ceremony at a nearby temple and were on their way to a waterfall to continue their day out.

Hmm. I guess they didn't make enough merit or...... the whole thing is pointless.

Maybe there is a DIY mini - merit making they could do before leaving on a trip to make merit? I bet though that none of it counts unless some money changes hands with a monk.

I'm too confused and too much a heathen to figure it out.
