Paw Piboonsongkram thought the same and invented Pad Thai in 1932, to combat Chinese noodles being bought. Not many people know that Pad Tai means 'noodles of the people', something he copied from his nationalistic buddies in 1930 Europe.

Just watched a UK doco about a 17 year old boy that strangled and stabbed his girlfriend of 3 months dead after she rejected him. Can happen anywhere.

Totally agree. I have an imaginary girlfriend.  She's a bit overweight and not particularly good looking ; but I'd feel the same if anyone messed with her.
