I live near the east end of Nern Plubwarn. I have had NO water service for the last 24 hours. Does anyone have any information as to what is going on? If not, does anyone have a number I can call to get information about the water service? ... I have emptied my reserve tank, and have only my drinking water available at this time.

I'm on Khao Noi and if I recall, our water comes from the same trunk line as yours (I think Khao Talo, Khao Noi and Nern Plerb Wan are all on the same line).

No problems here so I suspect your issue is probably with some numpty that decided to tear up the road somewhere to connect a sewer line to the main drain and hit the water pipe in the process.
Usually those kind of outages are resolved within a day. If your tank is empty in less than a day, I'd suggest a larger tank. Family across from me has 5 people and they can go 3 days on a 750 liter tank. I have a 1200. Friend of mine up the road has 2 x 1000 lt tanks (also 5 people in the family).

Here is the Provincial Waterworks Pattaya webpage with the FAQ about what you should do if there's no water coming from your taps. Chat link and contact numbers are at the bottom of the page.

Note the first thing they suggest is checking that the valves are open (usually right next to the meter). I've had it happen once where I wasn't getting water for some reason and sure enough, some ****er had turned off the valve on the house side of the meter for some reason.

Turns out the "Hotline" number (1662) is Thai only. No English option! The website lists 10 "Regional Offices"; but I can't see any map, or listing that shows the areas covered by each "Regional Office". ... I guess we must be living in Thailand!

I suspected the hot line might be Thai (language) only. Didn't know if you had a Thai speaker in your home though.

The closest office to you is the one on the 3240 "highway" just left of the railway bypass intersection.

Really easy to get to but, the last time I was there, they didn't seem to have many English speaking staff (or I just happened to be able to get by without needing to speak much Thai that time).

My (Thai) niece got in touch with the local water office. Their "answer" was that "There was a big break in the water line, which will be fixed sometime this evening." Naturally, no details on where or how the break occurred. I suspect that it was an occurrence of a frequent situation mentioned by someone in the forum a couple of days ago. Some worker was digging for some other reason, with no knowledge or guidance as to the location of underground pipes, and broke the water line! ... Is anything EVER done properly in this country?

If you're complaining after just 24 hours without water, you're not going to enjoy the coming hot, dry season. Here on Thepprasit we just had three days with no water, related to the works to build a new water main from the Bang Saray area to supply parts of Pattaya. It's back now, but low pressure a lot of the time. Be grateful for the closed borders, normally by now there would be hundreds of thousands of tourists and sunbirds here, at least the virus has led to a drop in water demand.
