So I got this pack of Double A color printing paper:-

On one side of the packing it has a little notice "COPY This side First" with a little arrow pointing UP.

Is there a reason for using one side first?

Once the paper is out of the package you can't tell which side is which anyway, so does it really matter which side is used first

I've used all sorts of paper in my Laser printer. I've never taken any notice which side is up, so what you have pointed out is a complete mystery to me also.

Laser printer !!!!!  (got one too). But it might be different for inkjet printers.

Milled paper will have a natural 'curve' to it, so in large copier machines it's preferred to load the paper drawers a certain way to cut down on paper jams  (especially if doing double-sided copies.)

Hence, the tag on the ream of paper you posted:

Hmm!  OK!  That makes sense .

You never just load the whole reem. You get small amounts and thumb it through on one side then the other, separating the papers so they won't stick and jam.

I thought one side was shinier than the other and this side either went up or down, can't remember. Maybe dreaming.

At work I always load a full ream and never an issue, some documents I print are 400 pages.
