The driver of a car was killed and a passenger injured after the vehicle flipped over after crashing into two trees on Sunday in Nong Khai province.

Muang Nong Khai police, paramedics and rescuers went to the accident scene to help the victims.

The driver, Kanchan Tiemkan, 23, was found dead in the seat. Rescuers had to use equipment to widen the seat and pull his body out.

Aniwat Pariwat, 25, was found alive and hospitalised.

Police suspect the driver might have fallen asleep during the drive, as there was no sign of braking on the road when the car crashed into the trees and flipped over.

So common. I once narrowly escaped a heavy accident. Was driving on the left of two lanes. One of the "always on the right" delivery pickups ahead of me was hit from behind by a limousine at high speed. Also no sign of any reaction before the impact. Both went into the ditch.

On highway 12 there are multiple signs in Thai saying "tired? take a break".

One of the "tired, take a break" (park/stop, have a break) signs (from the web).
