PHUKET: Members of the House Committee on Corruption Suppression and Prevention inspected the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort in Kata yesterday (Nov 23) in following up a complaint filed against the resort for possible illegal construction over the Bang Rak Canal.

The inspection was led by Committee Secretary Pradermchai Boonchuaylue together with Phuket MP Sutha Pratheep Na Thalang, who serves as the Vice Chairman of the Committee, and other members of the committee.

Of note, Mr Sutha is also the Phuket MP representing the military-backed Palang Pracharat Party.

IMO those guys should be by all account, the most busiest group of people in the country... just observing...

Should set up a new group: Anti anti corruption committee inspects anti corruption committee.

from the article:

Avoiding key issues in the complaint, Mr Pradermchai said, “For the construction over Bang Rak Canal, we have not been able to conclude this issue. The aerial photos showed us that there is a canal through the resort land, but from the inspection, we did not see any canal in the resort.

looks like they misplaced a canal :coffee1:

Yup, lost it.

Is that the same hotel that installed a three meter high wall blocking 3/4 of Kata Noi beach? It should be demolished for destroying the coastline.

Are these the same guys that couldn't see prostitutes in Pattaya. Oh no, that was a different group.

They couldn't find the canal because it had been built over! Why were they trying to look for something that obviously they wouldn't even be able to see?

Dreaming? There is no 3 m tall wall. There are 3 access roads to the beach as it is a public beach.

Obviously standing outside a lolliepop store.

Should pay a visit to the land department in Phuket town

This is only related to the people from that area, and that includes/is for a big part this hotel, are pursuing the illegal construction project right over their heads on the hill. I think the hotel and its construction will be proven legal.
