Bike without a book.

Featured Replies

I had a CB400 bought at 67,000 from CM 14 years ago with invoices so had CTPL govt ins, no number plate no problem those days.

I wanted the bike legal so went BKK and it was gonna cost 54,000 baht for a inspection to get a Green book.

25,000 of that was for the inspection and if they found the slightest thing wrong and you fix it, they wanted another 25,000 for another inspection.

I gave up of course.

So ending up getting a Green book from a guy in CM which enabled me to have a number plate and get a road tax disc but if looked into would of still ended up as an illegal bike.

  • You have answered your own question.   No company in the known universe will insure a bike that has no number plate or registration papers.

    No green book, probably stolen

  • It depends. The important thing is that you clearly know what you're getting into.   A few points... If you buy a bike without book and ride it on your property or somewhere in the c

I believe you but i was told by a biker that he did insure it with only the invoice.

You might find an insurance, but you'd also have to pay tax.

To make a long story short. A friend of mine had a fancy bike without papers.

Coppers wanted to see them and after he couldn't produce them ,the bike was confiscated.
