This AG was a real lulu...

Mr. Barr brought the Justice Department closer to the White House than any attorney general in a half-century. Defying the distance that federal law enforcement officials have typically maintained from campaign politics, Mr. Barr spent the months leading up to the election echoing Mr. Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud. He also told an interviewer that the country would be “irrevocably committed to the socialist path” if the president were not re-elected.

But at this point, you really have to wonder, what kind of schemes Trump might have in mind for the Justice Department during his final month in office.

So who's the new acting AG as Trump gets ready to depart?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_A._Rosen

On February 19, 2019, President Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Rosen for the position of United States Deputy Attorney General, succeeding Rod Rosenstein upon his departure from the Department of Justice. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 16 by a vote of 52–45.

...

His nomination to become the second-highest law enforcement official was unusual, as Rosen had no previous prosecutorial experience.[6] Attorney General William Barr had urged Trump to choose Rosen as his deputy.[10] Rosen was sworn in on May 22, 2019."

And what's he shown an interest in in the past?

In June 2019, Rosen sent a letter to New York state prosecutors inquiring into the case of Paul Manafort and indicating that he would be monitoring where Manafort would be held in custody. Shortly thereafter, federal prison officials informed New York state prosecutors that Manafort would not be held in Rikers Island. Current and former prosecutors described this decision as unusual, because most individuals held in custody while awaiting federal trial are held in Rikers Island, a prison with a reputation for violence and mismanagement.

Actually, it looks like even a lowlife like Rosen might have too much integrity for Trump:

Trump asking about special prosecutor for Hunter Biden

Trump is still weighing his options, considering whether to pressure Rosen to make the special counsel appointment or, if needed, to replace the acting attorney general with someone more likely to carry out his wishes. He has even asked his team of lawyers, including personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, to look into whether the president has the power to appoint a special counsel himself.

A key question will be whether Rosen can stand up to presidential pressure — and potentially withering attacks — in the waning weeks of the Trump administration.

IMO there will be a special prosecutor(s) to look into this whole mess.

Agreed!  Barr should be investigated for obstruction of justice and lying to congress for his heavily redacted version of the Mueller report.  Can't wait.

That's not just nutty... It's DANGEROUS... A private citizen (fired police captain) running around accosting an innocent party with a gun.  I wonder if Rudy had some affidavits relating to the air con guy's case???  :cheesy:

Meanwhile, no mention in the article of whether the fired police captain and alleged ADW assaulter was legally entitled to be carrying a gun.  But this is Texas, so perhaps, that's beside the point.

Hope they put this guy away for a LONG time... He deserves it!

I haven't been in Texas for awhile but I thought it was a requirement to carry a gun. This guy is lucky he wasn't murdered like Ahmaud Arbery. The black man in Georgia shot by a former cop for walking in the neighbourhood while black.

And thus the danger of posting fake information on social media outlets, sharing them with others, and actually believing them.

Stunning....

A Hollywood screen writer couldn't make this kind of stuff up. Same with the   militiamen charged today in Michigan for plotting to kidnap the governor.

Or this.  Who would have thought supposedly patriotic Americans would do this...or even support it!  Beyond belief.  Trump has changed our country for the worst.  Obviously.

Terrible president.  Sad some think otherwise.  Luckily, some are making the move:

Thanks for that.

Smartmatic demanded a retraction “with the same intensity and level of coverage that you used to defame the company in the first place,” including that it be published on multiple occasions and across network platforms.

Hardly the same intensity yet, but that was to be expected. Too little too late I'm afraid though, the seed has been sown.

Barr can say what he wants, but this from the Washington Post:  "Biden will start his presidency with nearly half the country believing he is not the legitimate occupant of the White House."

Well, then, I guess the alleged fraud must be nearly true since almost half the population believes it.

What is surprising (well, to me at least) is that they did not manufacture some sort of situation to justify the voter fraud claims.  With the likes of Roger Stone and Bannon in his circle, well, that's what they do.  Or perhaps a firebrand apprentice (no pun intended) of theirs.  It's what Lee Atwater would have done.  Or Roger Ailes.  Maybe Stone realizes he's on thin ice.  Perhaps this level of the Black Arts is a thing of the past, the filth of the Nixon CREEP creeps gone: if you don't know what I'm getting at here's a good place to start

If they were going to do it they'd have done it by now.

Third and final Georgia audit rejects Trump fraud claims and confirms Biden victory

A signature audit in Georgia has yet again ruled out the allegations of fraud or rigging levelled by President Donald Trump, confirming Joe Biden’s victory in the key state for the third time.

Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger released a statement saying that the signature review in Cobb County found that the elections were not fraudulent and had a 99.99 per cent accuracy rate when it came to performing correct signature verification procedures. Mr Biden won the county by over 12,000 votes.

Trump's blasting out tweets claiming voter fraud in GA.  Actually, in all swing states.  Sad some fall for this BS and give him money.

I read Trump's super PAC has sent out over 600 emails requesting donations to help the dems from 'stealing' the election.  Suckers...

it's a shame trump and his enablers won't be serving jail time for creating such divisiveness in the US i.e. acting contrary to national security, in breach of his Oath of Office.
