A farmer in Nakhon Sawan in north/central Thailand made a shocking discovery yesterday morning.

Sommai, 53, was inspecting a large field on his motorcycle when he came across a strange object - a big sack that contained something.

So he had a peek inside and found the body of a man trussed up.

He notified the phu yai ban and Nong Bua police and forensic teams soon showed up.

The body was of a Thai man aged about 40-45. There was no ID, he just had a cigarette lighter and a few baht in change.

He had bruising on his face and neck. There was a white cloth around his neck and he appeared to have been strangled. He was tied up with his hands and feet secured behind his back.

Medics determined he had been dead about 7 hours.

Everyone said he was not from around there.

Police are studying missing persons' lists from the surrounding areas and believe he was murdered elsewhere and dumped at the scene.

I wonder how they deduced that he was Thai.

Probably from the absence of white skin blond hair and blue eyes they deduced that he's NOT a Swedish or other European man...

Hey, now the BiB! Thumps up for a thought process well done!

may lord buddha provide the deceased a heavenly abode.

May his soul have peace.

May his loved ones are found and the body handed over to them so the final rites can be performed as per religious and cultural customs.

New member. Same old sad 'jokes'. Yawn!

Man, you guys will throw shade at anything.  Has it been a slow news day?

Dead man found in Thai field, so first assumption is that he's Thai -just like if a dead man was found in an English field to be a Brit, a French field to be French, etc.

Nowhere in that short article did it say the investigation has reached a conclusion.

Think I'd wait until they find out who he is before saying that. There's a certain minority of people we read about on here daily that a lot of us would be happy to end up like this.
