During the whole negotiations from eight months ago when the Democrats already had it prepared and the Republicans were stalling for after the election Trump did absolutely nothing Trump knew exactly what the Republicans were going to do and he agreed now that the Democrats and Republicans have passed it he wants a veto it saying he wants Americans to have more money like he’s the big hero Trump is just one big liar another screwup like when he said the virus was no worse than the flu like when he says china Is a bigger threat than Russia or Russia is hacking into everything Trump says that one word and I was thinking Trump said he believes Putin more than his own intelligent people Trump is just in crazy Ville thank God he’s leaving soon it was his lies and conspiracy theories etc. etc. anybody with a brain knows Trump is just one liar and the worst president America ever had

You may have missed this interview, it sheds light on why the bill was not passed before.

"Pelosi wasn't done. "Let me say this with all due respect, with all due respect, and you know we've known each other a long time, you really don't know what you're talking about," she said as Blitzer continued to ask why the $1.8 trillion deal proposed by the White House wasn't good enough."

Did you forget it was trump who told them not to do it until after he won the election.

Forgetting a credible link to back that improbable theory of yours? Trump is on record, and as per the CNN interview I just posted, of wanting to get the covid bill passed asap and way before the election, while Pelosi played politics and dragged it out. Read the Blitzer/Pelosi interview for starters if you want to understand what was happening.

$600 lol... that will pay for maybe some of your rent. Who needs food and electricity !?

again, Trump is correct.

In Los Angeles, average rent is $1750 so the chicken s#it $600 stimulus would barely cover 30% of the average rent

If the following is correct, it may all be for naught, anyway... Typical of a Trump venture:

"Logistically, though, it could prove difficult for Democrats and Trump to amend the bill and approve $2,000 checks in the next few days, or even weeks.

If any Republican in the House opposed Pelosi’s effort on Thursday, it would not pass. Such a change would also require Senate Republicans to pass the measure unanimously, something that is unlikely to happen."

If the above is correct, in all likelihood, Trump's either gonna have to sign the $600 bill, veto the whole thing, or let it become law without his signature.

"Democrats in Congress seemed to be enjoying the Republican-on-Republican attacks.

“If his major concern is he wants $2,000 relief checks, I’m sure we can accommodate his desires,” said Representative Jamie Raskin, Democrat of Maryland and a member of Ms. Pelosi’s leadership team. “On the Democratic side, we have been pushing for a much larger package for months.”

Should Mr. Trump veto the bill after sitting out negotiations, Mr. Raskin said, it would be a “ludicrous way to run government, but it’s a fitting end to his presidency.”

I can imagine the bemused and bewilderment looks on Bernie and Andrew Yang faces. Nancy Pelosi is ready to agree to $2,000 by unanimous consent. Never knew Trump is actually a RINO and in the Dems camp. The burden right on Mitch and the GOPs. They may have to cancel their Christmas holidays. What a crazy situation created by similar crazy President.

His statement is meaningless anyway.  Congress has enough votes on this to override his veto.

This. Any veto is useless, just like his presidency.

Will the GOPs in congress finally grow a pair and override or they succumb meekly to their lunatic boss. Will be fun to watch either way.

It is structured as an advance on a fully refundable tax credit.

https://www.barrons.com/articles/do-i-need-to-pay-taxes-on-my-stimulus-check-51596706200

"While the news on coronavirus is grim, you might be happy to know that you won’t owe taxes on your stimulus check, also known as an Economic Impact Payment. Under the Cares Act, the stimulus checks are treated as a fully refundable tax credit for 2020, which means it isn’t included in gross income and thereby isn’t subject to taxes."

If you check you will see it is not free money for you.  It is an advance tax credit which you will have to pay back.

Your post is false I suggest you do your research before posting such nonsense.

You don't have to pay your stimulus check back to the government, and it will not reduce your tax refund for the year. The stimulus check is a new federal tax credit available in 2020 that the government has decided to give people now to help them through the pandemic and the recession. Tax credits provide a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your tax liability for the year, resulting in either a smaller tax bill or a larger tax refund.

If they don't, Trump's choices are to sign the bill into law, veto it, or do nothing and let it become law.

maybe....

if the soon-to-be-former president fails to sign the bill within ten days, and congress adjourns, then the bill is "pocket"-vetoed.  in this case, since congress is out of session, the veto can not be overridden.

they are planning to adjourn and head home for the holidays asap, and then return on january 3rd to prepare for the eviction notice.

This is just Trump grandstanding. Trying to tell the people of the USA he cares, looking for popularity votes not a decent bone in this mans body. Mean and cruel to the end.

Terrible of Trump to want a decent relief check for Americans, $600. is a joke.
