I had failed to mention previously that not only was Tim Bogert (d. January 13, 2021) a founding member of Vanilla Fudge but was also a member, along with Appice, of Cactus.  After the band's demise Bogert and Appice formed the super group trio of Beck, Bogert & Appice.

Here's Beck, Bogert & Appice with the classic blues tune Black Cat Moan of of their one and only '73 self titled studio album.

Jimmie Rodgers (d. January 18, 2021) with his '62 hit English Country Garden which rose to the number 5 spot in the U.K.  If nothing else it's worth watching the video for featuring some iconic traditional English cottages and gardens.

Ronnie Nasralla (d. January 20, 2021) was the long time producer of Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, a Jamaican ska, calypso and soca band which played a crucial pioneering role in bringing Caribbean music to the world.  Here's the band playing Freddie "Toots" Hibbert's (d. September 11, 2020) composition 54-46 That's My Number which features Toots and the Maytals.

Hilton Valentine (d. January 29, 2021) was one of the original members of The Animals.  Valentine is credited with the electric guitar arpeggio introduction to the Animals' '64 signature song "The House of the Rising Sun," which inspired countless beginning guitarists.  It was played on his Gretsch Tennessean guitar which he bought in Newcastle in early '62 while he was still with the Wildcats, and a Selmer amplifier.

The House Of The Rising Sun off of The Animals' '64 self-titled LP.

Stefan Cush (d. February 4, 2021) was lead vocalist and guitarist for the British folk punk group The Men They Couldn't Hang.  Some excellent fiddlin' on Shirt Of Blue off of their '86 How Green Is The Valley LP.

How about something from those wonderful 80's?  Duran Duran couldn't be more typical.  Hungry Like The Wolf off of their '82 Rio LP.  Hope this one doesn't hurt your ears too much, LOL.

Tell me you wouldn't snap your fingers or maybe even tap your toes to this bannork?

Not sure if anyone's noticed but tutsi hasn't been seen on Thaivisa since July 19, 2020.  I know we're all getting up there in years and I don't know his age but I sure hope he's O.K.  I know he's a huge fan of Jeff Beck so here's a tune for ya, tutsi.  I miss all of his great annecdotes.

Jeff Beck with Shapes Of Things of the his '66 Truth LP.

Looks like God took 2 days off.

Arlen Roth - suffered a double tragedy when both his wife and 10 year old daughter ( who played guitar with him) were killed in a car crash.

I sent him a personal message a couple of weeks ago but no reply. He alluded to not being in the best of health last year.

A Gene Clark song .

Thanks for the info, bannork.  I wasn't aware that he wasn't tip top last year.  Should he have decided to depart then I'm not sure that we'd ever have confirmation.

Happy Birthday Peter Gabriel.  The best song you ever wrote.

bannork, I liked his emotional performance and the reverb of his vocal in the stadium but the quality of the vid is poor.  I just found another video of the same performance but excellent quality both for video and audio.  I don't know if you download videos off of YT so I'm putting this up in case you do.

Warren Zevon with a magical live performance of Carmelita in L.A. sometime in '77.  Includes a beautiful soft strumming guitar solo.  Interesting fact:  his father was known as Stumpy Zevon who not only worked for years for the notorious L.A. mobster Mickey Cohen but was Cohen's best man at his first wedding.

The Hindu Love Gods were an early collaboration with some of the members of R.E.M. and Warren Zevon.  Gonna Have A Good Time Tonight was recorded in '84 and released as an A-side single in '86.

Thanks for posting that much better recording of Biko, Tippers.

That's a beautiful song by Warren Zevon.

Happy Birthday to Yoko Ono, vilified in her time. 87, that's quite an age.

A bouncy number by John for her and then her own song.

I've never been a huge jazz fan but there are some pieces I definitely enjoy and own.  Chick Corea, considered one of the foremost jazz pianists of the post-John Coltrane era, died February 9, 2021.  Here he is playing live with Miles Davis on Miles Runs The Voodoo Down at the New Port Jazz Festival in '69.  Found on the Bitches Brew Live CD released in 2011.

English singer-songwriter and guitarist Jon Mark died February 10, 2021.  Ghetto is from his '71 debut album, Mark-Almond.

Mark with John Mayall on California live off of their '69 The Turning Point LP.

And with the short lived band Sweet Thursday playing Side Of The Road with Nicky Hopkins on keyboards.  Off of their one and only self-titled '69 album.
