Four of Thailand’s popular national parks have been closed to all outsiders, possibly with more to follow, due to growing concern by park officials over visitors spreading COVID-19.

Mr. Sompote Maneerat, spokesman for the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation, said today that Tap Lan National Park, which straddles Prachin Buri and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces, Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai, Pang Sida National Park in Sa Kaew province and Phu Kradueng National Park in Loei province have been closed until January 18th due to the number of tourists visiting the parks from Red Zone provinces.

For the remaining 140 national parks across the country, he said that the Ministry of National Resources and Environment does not currently plan to close them and they are still open, but visitors must book in advance, to limit the numbers, and strictly follow the safety measures.

I thought the government wanted people to stay at home ........???

Who cares anyway. Let them all go bust with their double pricing for foreigners.

my gosh, get over it - not sure where you are from but there is so much double pricing probably everywhere... so many examples from USA - county golf courses, state universities, Sr. movies and bus passes...

personally, I am glad to pay the extra couple of dollars to help support a park in Thailand that hopefully the locals can use and enjoy for free...

Double pricing is cheap nowadays! Last week went to Sam Roi Yot National Park and foreigners were charged 5 times the Thai price (200 baht vs 40 baht). I can afford the extra 160 baht but find the policy offensive, even more so knowing that it's not merely nationalistic but highly racist since my Hong Kong friends can pass as Thai if they don't open their mouths.

I went to one in Phetchabun a few weeks ago. Price for foreigners =  400 THB  Thai = 40 THB

It’s easy don’t visit don’t  support the exploitation of foreign visitors. They will eventually realise their bad judgement. Do Disney charge extra if your not American NO if they want more foreign visitors encourage them not discourage.
