Pattaya woman falls for "handsome man" online - she loses all her possessions

A young Thai lady in Pattaya has told the Thai media how she fell for the charms of a handsome stranger online.

After finally agreeing to a date he stole all her possessions while she went to a toilet in a gas station.

Daily News caught up with "A" after a post on Pattaya Talk on Facebook.

She said that the incident in question happened on Tuesday night.

A week prior a man had contacted her on a dating site. She didn't reply to all his texts then he asked for her Line ID. Like her, he was living and working in Pattaya - this inspired confidence.

He then stepped up the wooing and A said he engaged in very polite chat.

Then on Tuesday he said he was lonely and could they meet for a date. She turned him down at first then relented and was delighted when he arrived on his Honda PCX because he was a very handsome guy.

He took her to a North Pattaya hotel but she turned down his invitation to join him in a room so the couple decided to go for some drinks instead.

He was lovely and then consented to take her home - a true gentleman. On the way she expressed a need for the toilet and they stopped at a gas station.

As she was going to the ladies' - and he appeared on his way to the gents - he suggested she leave her bag under the bike seat.

She consented - after all, what could possibly go wrong.....

As she emerged from the loo she heard him rev the bike and race off into the night. The bag contained two phones, 3,500 baht, her ID and an ATM card.

She grabbed a motorcycle taxi to take her home and used the "win's" phone to call the thief.

Not surprisingly there was no answer.

She reported to the Pattaya police on Wednesday morning.

He said leave your bag under my bike seat, gawd how bloody brain dead is she.????

I would have to describe "all her possessions" as an extreme exaggeration. Two phones and some cash. A valuable lesson learned. Leaving her bag with a near stranger was not exactly award winning thinking. In this life, we must exercise some basic cautions, or we will get treated like a soi dog, over and over again. Come on. Where is the self respect?

I thought its going to be one of those African conman posing as a handsome pilot and looking for the love of his life and thus fleeces the poor victim of her saving, but is was a cheap local dunce looking to score few baht...

Unless this clown had the foresight remove or use fake plates, some bored police officer will find a CCTV and run the plates.

... but you would never get that under the seat of a Honda PCX ... ????

I am sure she thought: My one is different.

And yes, he is different. Just not the way she thought. ????

“All her possessions” is just yet another wind up mistranslation.

The Daily Mail headline uses “snatched her property” and no where in the Daily News article does it state he stole “all of her possessions”

And I see the farang apologists starting a bit of a theme here to start blaming the victim, calling her brain dead etc.
Now if a thai had done that to a farang what would the comments be like?

Wonder what is most stupid? Leaving her bag in the motorbike of a guy she never met before, or marketing her mistake in the news? Not a very bright lady!

I don't think it will take plod too long to find him, there was a picture of the guy on the local news on TMN this morning, he has huge holes in each ear lobe with those huge rings in that look a bit like bearings ????????

So if a Thai woman I just met, suggested I leave my wallet with her while I go pee YOU seem to think I would?

I don’t “date” hookers, and have never had a thai date steal from me. Or any nationality.

in most circles it isn’t the done thing.

I noticed you live in Pattaya, so I qualified that sentence for your sake, where dating a hooker is considered normal behavior by some.

Some even marry them and have children. I am sure you have seen that before right?

Nope, it says Pattaya area...... what has all this got to do with this Thai thief the OP is about?

Looking at the pic was it a handbag or man bag stolen  ????

I don't believe I've ever met a Thai girl with more than 100bht in her purse.

Unless she were coming home from work in a bar, then it'd only be 1,000bht at most.

2 (or 3) phones entirely believable.

Sad story the guy is a true A.

However, when the story gets out just helps us old ugly guys supporting the " I not like young handsome man, old man better".

He went to a lot of trouble just to steal a handbag. He must have been caught on CCTV whilst with her. Fortunately for him the police are unlikely to do any actual police work.
