Checkpoint seriously a waste of time

Not 150 metres up the road from our place is a checkpoint for checking of peoples temperature and making sure people are wearing masks when going through the village, no doubt Covid related.

There are about 10 people there both male and female manning the checkpoint throughout the day.

This morning my wife went to the local market at around 9.00am to get some stuff and was stopped at the checkpoint, lady put the machine to her head to get a reading, it read 24.7 degrees, wife said that can't be right, you better do it again because my reading at the kids school this morning was 36.3 degrees, the mayor who was sitting at the table, said to the lady, get the spare machine and she put it to the wife's head and again, 24.7 degrees, lady looked at the mayor and said 24.7 degrees, mayor said go through looks like the machines are faulty.

I said to the wife are they going to replace the machines, she laughed hysterically, an hour later her sister turns up, and tells her she got a reading of 24.7 degrees, wife says me too, in other words, no one changed the machines, anyway, I went to pick up the kids this afternoon and then to the dentist, no one stopping anyone, two men sitting there playing with their mobiles, bikes, cars going through unchecked, got back about 7pm and there was about 10 people, mostly men from what I could see, all sitting in a circle on chairs with a fire in the middle to keep them warm, no one checking anyone.

What a waste, seriously, is this the way Thailand is combating the Covid virus, starting to make sense now why the numbers are so low....LOL

got a reading of 30.5 in Big C a week ago. That means I'm dead apparently, although everything seems to be working as normal, unless this is the afterlife.  if so, then Mrs P is still here giving me grief.

p.s when I pointed out to the girl on duty in Big C,  that the machine was obviously broken,  she just smiled and looked confused.

I bought a mercury thermometer from Fascino 45 baht, if I feel ify I check temperature and everytime it's been in my usual range around 36.5, reassuring

No thanks. I have my fill, so to speak, of virgins over my  adult life, absolutely no fun at all.

I have always avoided them, as I have been told they are so needy once the deed is done, the confusing part is the bars are, or should I say were, full of them last time I checked ????
