A female PT gas station manager from Korat went from victim to thief in just a few hours yesterday.

She had large credit card debts.

Around lunchtime Chatrawee, 32, in charge at the PT station in Nong Jaeng, Cha-Am, told the local police that a man on a red motorcycle had kicked her off her motorcycle and taken more than 100,000 baht from a bag on Petchkasem Road heading towards Bangkok. The thief fled the scene, she said.

Soon many inconsistencies emerged in her story such as the speed she was travelling, the route she was taking at an unusual time and there were no marks on the bag. In addition CCTV showed no one matching the thief's description on the road.

After four hours questioning she finally admitted she made it all up. She had ten of thousands of baht in credit card debt and other debt.

The 100,000 baht was found by police after she took them to her room.

PT are taking action against her and police have charged her with false reporting and fraud.
