Pattaya: North Pattaya now "beautiful" after ugly wires buried and power poles demolished

Pattaya media Sophon Cable TV declared north Pattaya  both beautiful and safe after work to bury unsightly cables and demolish power poles had been completed.

The first stage of cable burying was done there after it was decided in 2017 by the interior ministry that work would take place in four major cities, including Pattaya.

Work will continue in Central and south Pattaya, Sai 1,2 and 3, several areas of South Pattaya and Sukhumvit Road.

Sophon said that 226 power poles had been removed in north Pattaya over a 2 kilometer stretch.

Central Pattaya work is set to begin in mid-2021.

Other areas have seen meetings between city officials and electrical authorities to discuss aspects of the project but these also expected to proceed early this year, they reported.

Looks to me like it has been photoshopped to remove the cables but the power poles are still there .

Goods news but what will pickups have left to crash into presumably only pedestrians ????

Are they power poles or street lights? I can't tell.

Haven't been near it since all that started, it was bad enough without the roadworks. Anybody out there want to kill time doing a pictorial post?

1st they sealed off Tai at 3rd road so you couldn't get out going up.  Then they moved up concreting bits of road to allow access to those businesses that paid the going rate. Now you've got Thai drivers chancing their arm (& the front of my car) by going the opposite way against those seeking access to the town.  I'm guessing this has been going on 6 months and NOT ONCE have I seen a cop.

Great ....... Until the first serious rains and usual flooding.

You people were saying the same thing non-stop about the traffic tunnel.

I would be more impressed if it looked like this with proper cycle lanes and footpaths!

Any guesses as to where this is?

Maybe it’s time to fix the sewage grating stinkhole in front of walking street

beer garden entrance

I see they still got 2nd road heading south at the roundabout blocked off by the photo, I  thought they were going to open that up

Really,  that would not make my top 40 list of things to complain about around here.

especially certain sections on beach road where the width of pavement is less than 100cm and there is a 40cm  concrete pole base in the middle
