Analysis - Trump's legacy: A more divided America, a more unsettled world

The power elite in hand with mass media were opposed to him even before he won the election. Between them they shaped the mindset of the sheep. But Trump did not create division. He recognised and acknowledged the divisions that existed created by neo Marxism, wokism, critical race theory, intersectionalist theory, anti white rhetoric, anti male hate...he did not create these divisions: The left did which in its current manifestation seek the destruction of America and American values.

You were doing fine up to the last sentence. What you refer to as the left I think you mean Democrats? If so, there are certainly many faults with them, but they have always basically been champions for the common man (with lots of pork for their pet projects).

Were it not for corona I have no doubt he would be waiting to start his second term now.

Au contraire, Covid was God's gift to Trump but he was too vain to see, let alone take advantage of it. No surprise there. We know what Trump did (as opposed to didn't do) re Covid. He covered it the way he covered the Mueller report. If we were in Trump shoes and being of the same caliber of scum that Trump is, we would at the very least have "made the SLIGHTEST attempt at a real handling of Covid." But Trump could never have done that, not even if his life depended on it. He's got to stick to his 100% pure Trump bravado.

Yeah, that "SLIGHTEST attempt at a real handling of Covid" - it wouldn't need to be real, a few kind-sounding words and a modicum of however fake empathy would suffice - would have done what his moving heaven and earth attempt to flip the election wasn't able to do: winning it. But Trump being Trump, a scorpion's got to do what a scorpion's got to do.

[A children tale of the scorpion and the turtle:
The turtle agrees to carry the scorpion on its back across the river on one simple condition that the later would not sting him mid-stream. Deal. Nevertheless, that's exactly what happens a little while later. Turtle: "Why did you sting me? Now both of us are going to drown!" Scorpion: "I know it, my friend. But I can't help it, a scorpion's got to do what a scorpion's got to do!"]

Yes, I agree.

If the disgraced ex-president Mr. trump had approached the pandemic in a barely competent, honest, and sincere way showing semi-believable concern for the welfare of all the American people in all states red and blue (clearly that wasn't his brand) he would have been reelected.  In other words if his pandemic response would have received a grade of C minus or D instead of an F as in FUBAR. That wasn't too much to ask of any president but it was too much to ask of him.
