Pattaya’s famous cabaret shows closed temporarily

Sophon Cable TV reported that both Alcazar and Tiffany - well known transgender cabaret shows in Pattaya - were both shut down temporarily.

 

They are victims of the pandemic that despite trying to struggle on after the first wave have been forced to close their doors.

 

Manager at Alcazar Kittiwong Chaisuphakit said they had tried to overcome the difficulties by following the protocols and limiting performances but the complete lack of foreigners and the fact that the Thai market was not sufficient led to the closure in December. 

 

However this means that the 300 staff can get money from social security until about June when hopefully the situation will improve.

A skeleton staff is running the office but they too may soon stop as there is little to do. 

 

The company is helping staff with other benefits and will abandon no one, he said. 

 

At Tiffany the media found only a security guard who said the performers had gone home and they were shut temporarily. 

 

Only a few staff were coming in there.

I thought Tiffany had been closed since last April. Alcazar gave it a go at weekends for a while before the 2nd shutdown.
