JIB computer assembly

Featured Replies

I bought a power supply at JIB and they went to work tightening up all the mistakes of my self build. Very professional assemblers.

Has anyone used them for assembly only (bring your own parts)? What do they charge?

If that's not an option it appears buying a single part may put them into assembly mode if you bring the rest.

I live near Surin and purchased a new computer case to replace one that was damaged in transit from the US.  The local JIB disassembled the old unit, cleaned each piece and reassembled with new thermal paste and installed a WD 128 SSD boot drive. The case cost 850 baht, WD SSD 690 baht and 300 baht for labor. This was in April last year.

Years ago, I read a sign in car repair shop. It said "Do you take your own eggs and bacon to a restaurant and ask them to fried them."

How much money do you expect to save, buying parts from other outlets. With some exceptions, most shops prices are comparable such MB, CPU, RAM, GPU, PSU, etc.

I've given them a parts list, full build, they quoted about 1,500 (on a 44,000 total price) over the best prices I could find from ~ four different sources. And a free build better than I could do. The particular location did not have every item in stock there, but they were able to get everything and deliver a finished build in less than 48 hours.

IMO, worth it you only have to deal with one vendor if there is an issue. In my most previous build I had to deal with some bad memory and it took a week or so the get that vendor to replace it.

I doubt that they'd do a new build with items you purchased elsewhere, why would they? But you can always ask I guess.

Prices here are almost universally the same as there are but a few importers, and prices/discount/promotions are controlled by the reseller's agreement.

continuing your car repair example - I once was quoted 2800 at MAXXIS for parts that clearly should cost less, and "pay now come back tomorrow". I went to the nearby auto parts shop and bought them for 470 THB

Yes, I did take these parts back to car repair shop and asked to replace them.
