Bangkok governor General Aswin Kwanmuang went on a visit of inspection to an old people's hospital in the west of the capital to see how preparations were going for the vaccine rollout.

A lot of people in masks turned out for the governor at Bang Khun Thian Geriatric Hospital.

Daily News reported that initial vaccinations in Bangkok will be carried out at 16 locations in six districts - Jom Thong, Bang Khun Thian, Bang Khae, Bang Bon, Phasi Charoen and Nong Khaem.

A total of 33,000 people will receive two doses each two to four weeks apart.

Some 6,200 medical personnel will go first then 800 with close contact to infected people then those with seven chronic conditions will get their jabs.

The conditions are: respiratory diseases, heart and related blood vessel conditions, conditions involving blood vessels in the brain, chronic kidney complaints, cancer patients undergoing chemo and radiotherapy, diabetes and obese people aged from 18 to 59 (23,500 in total for all the conditions just mentioned).

The remaining 2,500 jabs will given to the general population and migrant workers (ages 18-59).
