Cathay Pacific Offers Free COVID-19 Insurance

Featured Replies

According to their site, Cathay Pacific offers free COVID-19 insurance.  They claim that this insurance offers $200,000 in COVID related coverage.

My question, has anyone been able to avail of this insurance for travel in to Bangkok, specifically has this free insurance by Cathay fulfilled the Thai government requirement of having at least $100,000 in health insurance in order to enter Siam?

Feedback please, thanks in advance.

This sounds good but will it work for a COE?  Emirates has or had a similar insurance policy for it's passengers.

The requirement is $100,000 of medical insurance including coverage for Covid, not $100,000 Covid insurance.

I flew from China to Thailand with Cathay Pacific last month.

This free Covid insurance will not help you for any visa or COE purpose.

The coverage period is too short.

Extract of the Terms & Conditions for this Covid insurance:

The coverage will be effective once your trip has commenced and is valid for 30 days

or upon your return to your home country*, whichever is earlier.

*Home country: any country/region to which you are granted rights of citizenship or permanent

       residence

Thanks for this info, I kind of figured this was the case.

All the best.
