The Eastern Economic Corridor (EECO), a special economic zone of three provinces in eastern Thailand, has partnered with state-owned National Telecommunications (NT) to launch the country’s first 5G pilot.

Under the plan, the district of Ban Chang, Rayong, will become Thailand’s first progressive smart city, according to a statement.

The two companies said infrastructure around the Ban Chang Subdistrict Municipality is being improved to prepare the area for various communications systems, including frequency technologies that support the industrial development of 5G.

Not really as you clearly haven't got a clue what the Smart City concept entitles. Nuff said.

I live in a house with three women. Literally, they walk around all day with handphones blaring as young Thai women sell clothing and other female items on facebook. Occasionally, they look at the same screen and discuss something. Packages arrive daily. Thailand's rapid adaptation to mobile commerce has been globally recognized and was featured in Reuters.

If I could, I would invest all my money in Thai mobile commercialism. But I can't.  All my money now goes to  pay for the packages arriving daily.

Agreed; have tried TOT & 3BB both as unreliable as the other.  They did some upgrading near me; great swathes of cabling cut down & left strewn about the road to be caught up in motor bike wheels.

a smart city for dumb people

There are so many ads and billboards advertising 5G, and all the phone shops sell 5G handsets...................and yet it's only just being piloted in Thailand.

As Baden Powell said "Be Prepared

Will the Smart city have it's own satellite put in orbit by the new space program that goes to the moon?

You must be in a really remote area that you can't get anything.
