Opposition to Push for Charter Amendments Again

BANGKOK (TNA) – Opposition parties planned to push for constitutional amendments in the next parliamentary session.

Opposition leader Sompong Amornwiwat said after a meeting of opposition parties that the opposition hoped a referendum bill would pass its second and third readings today so that a new bill for constitutional amendments could be filed during the next parliamentary session.

Mr Sompong said the opposition was disappointed with the past charter change bill that was rejected in the parliament yesterday. He blamed it on political tactics.
