  • Media does fine without Trump.  Actually, much better.  Misinformation was down 75% after they banned him from Twitter.  Stunning so many fall for the fake junk.  They should go after the other fake n

Twitter is not media per se. And yes, mainstream media is hurting big time post 45.

I watched the news on CNN today. First up was over 10 minutes on the Israeli elections, so I stopped watching CNN- too boring. While CNN was boring me with the Israeli elections, Fox was up first with the southern border and mayor declaring a state of emergency in Gila Bend, Arizona.

Whatever platform Trump goes on IMO it's not going to be boring.

Israeli elections are boring?

Yes, absolutely, incredibly boring. Whoever gets in I doubt anything will change for the Palestinians. IMO doesn't matter who will be PM so why would non Israelis care who wins?

You see the Israel election which has a profound effect on the Middle-east geopolitical dynamics as less important than local issues at the border? Now I understand why Americans think Singapore is a city in China.

And you're surprised news outlets are more and more becoming entertainment venues in stead of news outlets.

Where do Kiwis think Singapore is?

I find it hard to understand why all these older people are still in US politics, Trump,  Biden,  Bernie are surely too old.

Why aren't younger people in the running .?

Not surprised but saddened.

There were, but the voters chose the old guys in the primaries.

So it saddens you while you switch channels because the one giving you the factual news is too boring.

Not making sense at all, unless you're stating your own actions sadden you.

5555....this reminds me of the scene in Gladiator where Maximus asks "Are you not entertained?"

There are people who would rather watch Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, et al, spout off a bunch of nonsensical lies than to watch "boring" real news on CNN or BBC.  "Entertainment" gets ratings and that's why Fox News had been a juggernaut all these years.  Sure people tuned in to CNN to watch the trainwreck that was the Trump presidency.  But now that he's gone, it's back to old, boring news.  Personally, I prefer boring.

LOL. If seeing Netanyahu and his wife sticking a bit of paper in a box, repeated after he went off camera to put his mask on is "factual news", the definition of "news" must have changed a bit since a few years ago.

LOL. I don't consider much ( other than the weather ) on BBC or CNN to be 'real news". Far as I'm concerned, for real news I watch Al Jazira. The only channel that doesn't need to sell advertising to survive, IMO.

BTW, Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, et al are opinion/ entertainment shows, so it doesn't really matter what they say, IMO.

You are aware that they are fully owned and funded by the Qatari govt, right? Why would they need advertising?

The BBC doesn't sell advertising.

Yes, agree, but here it is even worse with people complaining about the quality of the news, and at the same time complain about the quality.
