Alcohol ban in Thailand this weekend

Featured Replies

I noticed Hooters in Patts does not sell from 2-5pm...I wonder what that is all about.  Must be 200 bars, still open, selling during those hours, and Hooters is more of a restaurant than nearly all of them.  Higher rent, thicker envelopes?

  • Are you serious, live in Thailand? You need a source about the election? I don't. Terrible loudspeaker monsters passing every hour and shouting for their candidate.   Reason: it's

While I am reading this Notice, a nice cold beer, (it's 40 degree outside). I must thank you for your concern about me being allowed to drink alcohol in MY OWN HOME Mister Prayut. I only have one question, are you feeling well?

Business as usual at Triangle bar, Soi Chaiyaphoon yesterday evening.

So the worst is over ????

Up here election of mayor running.

No bar no problem.

The named establishment probably doesn’t have enough coffee mugs to serve beer in

For the avoidance of doubt - the alcohol ban doesn't apply to Bangkok.

It's 1945 on Sunday and I have just seen this. It is [deleted] nonsense. Lunchtime I sat drinking a beer with a few locals opposite the polling station.

But thanks to TV for the advance warning..........

In Pattaya this ban was not enforced. Only a few bars closed, most opened as normal.

Inconsistency as usual, in one bar I was told - we are serving as normal, we asked the police and they said we have had no instructions so we have no authority to stop people selling alcohol.

The bar on the next block was closed.

The notice in Villa said no alcohol sales from 18.00 Saturday till 23.59 Sunday.

I suppose if you want things running like clockwork you go to Switzerland.

At work, why?

The votes don't even get counted anyway.

If they did, it would take ages to tap out +1 everytime on a calculator! Maybe done by a drunk vote counter ????
