Need Advice on Returning a 2018 Revo to Active Status

Featured Replies

I left Thailand in Feb 2020, thinking I was going on a 6 week vacation.  I had my 2018 Revo serviced at the dealer shortly before leaving.  The truck has about 60,000KM.  My gardener has periodically started the truck and taken it out for short rides in the village.  I'm due to return to our home from quarantine this Saturday.....after a long 13 months.  From the truck/diesel pros, any suggestions on what I should do after being away for so long?  My gardener says all's well with the truck (he has his own identical model).

You don't need to do anything. Since a good gardener took care while you were away. Just start it and go.

I have a similar model. Used to park under shed for 3 to 4 months without starting it while I travel,  just come back and started it and go. Toyota Revo is one of the best workhorse so far.

I'd be tempted to change the oil and filter if it's had occasional short runs (condensation), but other than that jump in and go.

Yep, there is a reason why oil changes are stated at every 10,000km or 6 months (or what ever the Revo service schedule actually is).

Be expensive if  the engine died from a bearing issue and Toyota bring up the service records and tell ya to pound pavement on a warranty claim !!

Thanks for the replies.  Food for thought.

If it's been started regularly and driven short distances, I would want to drive it at speed for an hour and then change the oil & filter.
